Artisan Cottage

£175.00

per night

This is a hidden retreat, tucked amongst charming historic houses and opposite the River Avon and Monkton Park; it's a short walk to shops and pubs. Artisan Cottage is set over 3 floors and is Grade II* listed, originally a cottage for those who prepared and spun the wool that was brought into the market town of Chippenham. It has been sympathetically restored to a traditional Wiltshire cottage with exposed Cotswold stone walls and oak beams. What’s more, the cottage is filled with beautiful items from Miratis.

Enter through a wrought iron gate and along a cobbled alleyway into the entrance with honey coloured stone walls. From the well equipped kitchen/diner, a staircase leads up into a characterful and spacious sitting-room for TV-watching and relaxing; through the sitting room the bathroom is handsome with white-wood floors, oak finishes and Bramley products.  A 2nd staircase heads up to a bedroom with charming exposed beams, oak floors, crisp white linen, gorgeous wool throws and light-coloured walls.

On arrival you will receive a welcome pack which includes 'Tea Pigs' tea, coffee and sugar.  The fridge will be stocked with complementary organic milk, butter and eggs, fresh sourdough bread from our local bakery, jam, porridge and a locally sourced bottle of spring water.  Season permitting, you will find wild flowers in your cottage. The kitchen is well equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine, a combination microwave/oven and stocked with laundry and washing items.

The Cottage can be booked for a minimum of 2 nights from £300.

There is a 1 week cancellation policy.  Check-in times are 3pm and check out at 11am.

Our Approach to the Coronavirus:  Our cottage is self contained and private, it’s completely yours for the time of your stay.  You park your car on the driveway and enter your own personal space.  It’s the ideal place to stay during times like this!  Whilst staying in our cottage the health and wellbeing of our guests are our top priority and we diligently ensure that the cottage is scrupulously clean (we follow the governments guidlines around cleaning).

  • If you are not feeling great we ask you to postpone your visit with us until you’re feeling better.

  • We have additional hygiene products that are on hand throughout your stay, including alcohol wipes, effective hand gel, sanitising spray and of course the usual hand wash and hand cream by Bramley.

  • We will always extend a warm welcome to arriving guests when our paths cross (we are located in the house next door) but for the time being this welcome won’t be accompanied by a handshake or any other physical contact.

  • We ask for your help in washing your hands thoroughly as often as possible.

  • Whenever possible we will leave the cottage vacant for a minimum of 3 days between stays.

We want to help as much as we can and currently our cancellation policy stands at the usual 7 days period, however if you do fall ill and need to cancel your visit within the 7 days period we will move your booking to a more appropriate time in the interest of being more flexible during this period.  For now we are open to bookings as usual and we are located opposite a park where you can walk and/or cycle for miles without having to go on roads or cross paths with many people, we also also close to beautiful rural areas where you can enjoy fresh air and so a real haven away.
