Janet Stahelin Edmondson

Janet Stahelin Edmondson

Janet’s work explores the special properties of porcelain; it’s fine texture and translucency. Inspired by her family history in the textile industry, Janet combines her passion for ceramics with her love of textiles. Beautiful lace and embroidery inherited from her Swiss Grandfather, (who provided the fabric for the dresses worn by the Queen and Queen Mother at Princess Margaret’s wedding), are the starting point for this collaboration. Janet uses the antique lace that she inherited and many other textiles sourced from her travels, to create imprints into Limoges porcelain from which she produces elegant vessels. The resulting pieces, whilst always functional, are exquisite and unique. Your use and enjoyment of these exquisite ceramics completes the making process.
