Emma Clegg
Using only porcelain clay, Emma Clegg uses both the wheel and hand building techniques to make her functional and decorative ware. Her inspiration comes originally from spending time in her fathers pottery factories, but also from the delicate and translucent porcelain that is seen in today's museums, which, despite its appearance of fragility, has survived for hundreds of years, sometimes in the harshest of environments. Emma uses both 3 dimensional flowers and porcelain slip to decorate her pots, which are then fired to 1280 degrees centigrade which gives the pots strength.
